Product Description:

The Beckhoff EL9227-5500 is compact and advanced overcurrent protection terminal for EtherCAT based automation systems. The power control applied on the terminal and two channels enables the terminal to provide satisfactory current monitoring and protection so that the device does not sustain any extra current inflow. With the proximity and total weight of 55 g, this terminal also offers reverse polarity switch-off function and thus helps in enhancing system integrity by avoiding any damage due to incorrect connection wiring.

The upper bound current can be replaced with current levels in the range of 1-10A and a step of 1A. For a combination of such devices, the device will reach a 10A maximum per channel but will cut itself off if the input voltage exceeds 32V DC. Such characteristics make the EL9227-5500 suitable for voltage sensitive systems. Thanks to its communication via EtherCAT it receives reliable and fast data transfers within the network allowing quick integration to complex automated systems. For quick and durable connection, the terminal has spring-loaded terminals which allow using solid or stranded wires from 0.08 to 2.5 mm² cross-section, or from 0.14 to 1.5 mm² diameter with ferrules.

The device has a much compact physical design of 12mm x 100mm x 68mm which allows it to fit even in the smallest of spaces, and alternate mounting with other EtherCAT terminals is also supported. The EL9227-5500 series is capable of functioning in temperature ranges from 0^0 C to +55^0 C and has an extremely wide storage range between -25^0 C to +85^0 C, making it suitable in harsh factory environments. The EL9227-5500 is also efficient in terms of its power use and draws only 80mA from the EtherCAT E-bus. One of the key features of the Ethernet overcurrent terminal is to protect numerous components from damage in today’s advanced automation systems while being easy to install, integrate into EtherCAT devices and most importantly provide protection.
