The EL9222-4433 is an electronic overcurrent protection terminal made by Beckhoff for use in systems that automate manufacturing. Protection for 24 V DC lines is provided by this product. This terminal is built into Beckhoff's EtherCAT I/O system, which makes it easy to watch and control power supply lines.

The EL9222-4433 overcurrent protection terminal has fixed overcurrent safety at 3 A per channel and can handle up to 10 A of input current. The connector has a built-in fail-safe element that is rated at 4 A (T) for each channel and makes the circuit safer. It cuts off the load if there is too much power and will stay on for at least 10 seconds after the output is turned off. When the load hits 90% of its rated value, the device sends out an early warning signal. If the overvoltage level goes above 32 V DC, the device turns off. The small terminal housing is made of polycarbonate and measures 12 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm. It has signal LEDs that make the state clear. The overcurrent safety terminal is put on a 35 mm DIN rail in line with EN 60715 standards. The cross-sections for solid and stranded wires can be between 0.08 and 2.5 mm³, and those for ferrule wires can be between 0.14 and 1.5 mm³. It says that the length of the cutting should be 8 to 9 mm.

The EL9222-4433 overcurrent protection terminal can work in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 55°C and can be put in control cabinets that have an IP20 rating for security. The outputs of the terminal can be sent out through a terminal contact or directly to nearby terminals through their power contacts, so no extra wiring is needed. The LEDs show the operating state, and it is possible to map this status to the process image for system diagnostics.
