Product Description:

The EL9188 is a power feed terminal produced by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. It injects an external DC supply onto the EtherCAT I/O segment, allowing downstream terminals to share system voltage without individual power wires. Inside machine and process-control cabinets, such distribution modules reduce wiring effort and keep voltage separation clear, supporting consistent power availability for sensors, solenoid valves, and other low-power field devices.

Inside its slim 12 mm housing, the EL9188 routes the supply through 16 additional power contacts, giving each neighboring slice an individually fused feed point. The copper conductors are sized for a continuous load of ≤ 10 A, so a single module can energize multiple digital or analog channels while still fitting standard conductor gauges. For safety, the bus is rated for ≤ 60 VDC; remaining below this limit keeps the segment within SELV requirements and allows direct connection of low-voltage devices. The enclosure meets the IP20 protection class, indicating finger-safe terminals with no sealing for exposure outside an electrical enclosure.

For cabinet integration, the terminal snaps onto a 35 mm mounting rail, and its design permits side-by-side mounting without a grounding contact on the left. Field wiring lands on 16 terminal points, and each point delivers the module’s +24 V output potential to connected loads. Because the permitted installation position is variable, the terminal can be oriented horizontally or vertically to match available space. Diagnostic indicators are absent; both the Error LED and the Power LED are omitted, and there is no PE contact, so status feedback must be handled by upstream controllers. The part also lacks renewed power feed functionality, so the supply is not re-injected farther along the terminal string.
