The Beckhoff EL9180, part of the EL EtherCAT Terminals series, is designed with a housing width of 12mm and supports side-by-side mounting on EtherCAT terminals with power contact. The EL9180 EtherCAT Terminal is made to serve as a Potential distribution terminal, which eliminates the necessity for additional terminal blocks on the terminal strip. The spring force connections can be used more than once to connect to the source voltage.

The EL9180 distribution terminal is protected by a compact terminal case constructed from polycarbonate. It measures 12 x 100 x 68 (W x H x D). There are signal LEDs and a plug-in wiring level on the terminal, which makes it easy to install and maintain. The product can be mounted next to each other using a double slot and key link, and it can be installed on a 35 mm DIN rail that has a locking mechanism. The terminal can handle a nominal power of up to 230 V AC/DC and provides 500 V of electrical isolation between the E-bus and field potential. The terminal has a PE contact and three power contacts. The power contacts can handle up to 10 A of current. More power contacts can be added in two places, and the product can be placed next to other EtherCAT Terminals that also have power contacts. The EL-12-8pin and ES-12-8pin mounting standards are used, and the unit weighs about 50 g.

The EL9180 potential distribution terminal has an electrical connection to the mounting rail. It complies with the vibration and shock protection standards outlined in EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 and can withstand a greater mechanical strain. The EL9180 is an IP20-rated device that can be installed in many ways. The bit width of the process picture is 0, and it does not need any addresses or settings to work. It is made to work reliably in industrial systems, and it can work under 95% humidity level.
