Product Description:
The EL7221-9014 EtherCAT Terminal is a compact and high performance 1 channel motion interface developed for servo drive control in limited space applications. The model is designed specifically for AM8100 series servomotors.
The Beckhoff EL7221-9014 EtherCAT terminal supports current outputs up to 8 A at 48 V DC. It is integrated with One Cable Technology (OCT). The terminal enables combined transmission of motor power and feedback in a single cable. It is suitable for Safe Torque Off (STO) applications. The terminal simplifies motor setup and cabling while supporting advanced dynamic motion tasks through its precise servo control design. The model features multiple performance oriented specifications. It provides continuous output current of 7.0 A up to + 55 °C and 8.0 A up to + 45 °C when used with the ZB8610 fan cartridge. Peak output current reaches 16.0 A for one second at + 55 °C. The supported rotating field frequency ranges from 0 to 599 Hz that is suitable for flexible motor control. Its PWM clock frequency is 16 kHz while the current controller operates at 32 kHz and the rated speed controller also runs at 16 kHz.
The EL7221-9014 EtherCAT terminal from the EL series provides 24 V DC output voltage for the motor brake with a maximum output brake current of 0.5 A. Current consumption is optimized with typical values of 100 mA for power contacts (plus holding current for motor brake) and 120 mA for the E bus. Integrated diagnostic features support fault detection and system transparency. Distributed clocks in the terminal support precise synchronization for EtherCAT communication. It supports plug and play functionality, track control and absolute feedback that ensures accurate and repeatable motion control.
