The EL7211-9014 EtherCAT Terminal is a compact motion interface designed for direct integration with servomotors. The model is engineered with compact drive technology and features 16 diagnostic LEDs to display operational status, warnings and faults.

The EL7211-9014 EtherCAT terminal from Beckhoff is compatible with AM8100 series motors and enables fast precise control in limited space environments. Its integrated diagnostics and parameter auto configuration reduce installation time. The terminal offers a maximum continuous output current of 4.5 A RMS and can deliver up to 9.0 A RMS peak current for 1 second. It supports supply voltages of 24 V DC for electronics and 8 – 48 V DC for power through external connections. The load type is a permanent magnet excited three phase synchronous motor. The terminal features one output each for the servomotor and motor brake. It operates reliably under conditions of up to 95% relative humidity without condensation. The terminal conforms to the European Standards for EMC immunity and emission. It utilizes the EtherCAT (Ethernet for Control Automation Technology) protocol to enable real time high speed, deterministic communication between industrial devices. It supports the CAN application layer over EtherCAT (CoE) that allows devices to exchange data using the standardized CANopen protocol framework encapsulated within the EtherCAT telegrams.

The EL7211-9014 EtherCAT terminal accepts inputs for two end positions, feedback and Safe Torque Off (STO) signal. The model provides reliable protection in motion critical applications. These enable highly dynamic and responsive motion control. Integrated feedback into the DC link during braking helps improve energy efficiency.
