Product Description:

This Beckhoff’s EL6900 variant is based on EtherCAT bus system which assures high speed of data exchange with the predetermined timing. It carries out safety logic control for centralizing the machine safety functions. Offering up to 128 safe inputs via distributed EL1904 or EL1918 modules, this model scales extensive sensor networks at the same time as providing SIL 3 integrity. This supports up to 128 safe outputs via EL2904, EL2918, EL2062 or EL2082 modules which simplifies actuator control across large installations.

It implements FsoE master logic processing with cross-communication, delivering robust safety communication. The interface programs in TwinCAT Safety Editor under IEC 61131-3 which aligns with standard automation software. The model interfaces via EtherCAT FsoE communication for a secure data on the same network. It runs between 0 °C and +55 °C which matches most industrial environments. The product’s dimensions are 12 mm × 100 mm × 68 mm and further it can mount on standard DIN rails to accelerates installation. The EL6900 variant makes use of 100 mA from the E-bus and thus which reduces upstream power load.

It carries CE, cULus and TÜV approvals under EN ISO 13849-1, IEC 61508, IEC 62061, EN 50156-1 and EN 60204-1 that certifies functional safety. The device comes with the IP20 protection class which protects against solid objects while fitting control cabinets. It weighs about 60 g which reduces rail inertia. Additional features include the cycles safety logic which is approximately 500 µs according to project size and enables rapid safety response. This model also achieves output reaction times of 2–3 ms, ensuring swift actuator shutdown under fault conditions. The EL6900 balances compact form factor and certified performance for comprehensive machine safety.
