The Beckhoff EL6861 works as an EtherCAT Terminal customized for ensuring safety in applications by managing electrical flow paths.
The device has four input channels to activate current circulation in enabling bridge interface or safety interface setups. This terminal links safety devices and control systems for dependable monitoring of functioning safety circuits, which protects robotic manufacturing processes. The device runs off a 24 V DC supply that needs to stay between -15% and +20% of this nominal voltage. Despite this, it draws only 80 mA of power from the E-bus, which makes it reliable and energy-efficient. The terminal provides accurate voltage detection through two 24 V DC power contacts that confirm operational requirements are satisfied. The EL6861 plugs into EtherCAT bus networks and sends data with a default transmission rate of 9600 baud. This terminal type works on twisted-pair wires for up to 500-meter system extensions, allowing easy placement and setup within extensive networks.
Users can effortlessly mount the terminal on a DIN rail for quick integration into standard industrial control cabinets.
