Beckhoff top-notch EL6784 variant is a single-channel module that is used for synchronous serial data acquisition. It features one channel where the encoder information is compressed into a smaller form. It is a high-speed I/O network compatible with EtherCAT terminal interface. Instead of having an input type bearing SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface), it accepts SSI input type which allows for direct connection to incremental encoders.

The product allows input frequencies up to 1 MHz in order to captures high-resolution position updates. It operates on a nominal 24 V DC input voltage with a common industrial supply standard. It also draws approx. 230 mA from the E-bus for managing efficient power distribution. The drive accepts load-supply currents depending on encoder load that adapts to various encoder current demands. It outputs RS422 signal levels ensure robust differential communication. With a supports cable lengths up to 50 m, it extends encoder placement flexibility. Moreover, it can transfer process data cyclically as input and guarantees real-time feedback in control loops.
