The market giant Beckhoff has supplied EL6752-0010, which is a member of the EL EtherCAT Terminals type for trouble-free fieldbus integration. It is a PROFIBUS Coupler that bridges the PROFIBUS networks to the EtherCAT I/O nodes. This innovative module exposes two PROFIBUS bus interfaces allowing network configuration in the form of daisy chain topology. It mainly utilizes twisted pair transmission mediums that improves signal integrity over long distances.
This terminal interface transfers data at up to 12 Mbaud with automatic baud-rate detection which adapts instantly to network speed changes. This isolates PROFIBUS and E-bus at 500 V, preventing ground-loop interference. The variant consumes power directly from the E-bus and eliminates extra power wiring. It consumes typically 250 mA on the E-bus which keeps overall module current demands low. It works between 0 °C and 55 °C and this range maintains reliable operation at varied industrial settings. The gadget occupies just 15 mm × 100 mm × 68 mm space which conserves valuable DIN-rail space. It snaps onto DIN rails which accelerates installation and replacement.
EL6752-0010 terminal weighs approximately 70 g to minimize the top-rail load. It can tolerate up to 95% relative humidity without condensation which suits humid production environments.
