Product Description:
EL6632-1001 is an industrial EtherCAT terminal from Beckhoff Automation. It features two communication interfaces. The Profinet IRT controller provides real-time or isochronous real-time operation. PROFINET is an open industrial Ethernet standard developed for automation and control systems. It enables seamless communication between various devices in a factory or automation environment. Multiple diagnostic functions are also available on the terminal. The cycle time configuration determines whether 15 Profinet RT or 5 Profinet IRT devices can be connected to the terminal. On the Profinet network, the maximum distance between two devices can reach 100 meters and the supported network topology is line. The terminal features 100BASE-TX Ethernet interface with two female RJ-45 ports. Twisted pair Ethernet cable is recommended. Hardware diagnostics are available via status LEDs. Power supply is available via the E-bus.
Electrical isolation of 500 Volts provides operating safety for personnel and equipment. The minimum RT and IRT cycle times are 1 millisecond and 500 microseconds respectively. The EL6632-1001 conforms to the C conformance class. The terminal drive is TwinCAT 2.11 and it can be configured from an EtherCAT master unit. E-bus on the EL6632-1001 terminal draws approximately 400 milliamps current. Vibration and shock resistance of the unit conforms to EN 60058.
