The EL6631-0010 is a communication terminal manufactured by Beckhoff and positioned in the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. It operates as a PROFINET RT device inside an EtherCAT I/O station, allowing a controller on the PROFINET side to read and write process data that is delivered over the EtherCAT backplane. By acting as this real-time interface, the unit enables distributed drives, sensors, and actuators to be incorporated into mixed network architectures without separate gateways.

The terminal supports a data rate of 10/100 Mbit/s, which is selected automatically through the IEEE 802.3u auto-negotiation procedure.
