The EL6070-1825 is an EtherCAT terminal manufactured by Beckhoff for the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. It functions as a memory card within the I/O system and retains parameter sets for adjacent modules, so a bus segment can restart with stored values after a voltage loss. By providing persistent configuration at the field level, the unit reduces repeated PLC downloads and preserves local operating data, which supports consistent startup behavior in industrial automation systems. This arrangement is useful when neighboring terminals rely on saved settings for communication or process handling.
The polycarbonate enclosure measures 12 mm in width, 100 mm in height, and 68 mm in depth, so multiple terminals can be mounted side by side without exceeding the standard cabinet pitch. The terminal uses a spring-actuated wiring method that is operated with a screwdriver, which shortens installation time and maintains constant contact force on the signal conductors. Inside, 1 MByte of local memory stores parameter tables, while the power contacts carry up to 10 A for adjacent terminals that require auxiliary current.
