The EL5101-1006 EtherCAT Terminal is a compact 1 channel interface for incremental encoders. It supports both RS422 differential and TTL single ended signal types. The terminal allows accurate position detection, frequency measurement and counter operations. It is suitable for motion control and automation systems requiring high speed signal acquisition up to 1 MHz.

The Beckhoff EL5101-1006 EtherCAT terminal includes connections for A, B and C channels with inverted signal support on RS422 (A̅, B̅, C̅). TTL signal types use A, B, and C without inversion. It offers 24 V digital inputs for functions like gate/latch and 5 V DC for status monitoring. The model provides a switchable 16/32 bit counter and a quadrature decoder with 4 fold evaluation. This allows for up to 4 million increments per second that is equivalent to a 1 MHz signal rate.
