EL4024 is an EtherCAT terminal with four analog output channels. It can source current for industrial actuators. Control devices located on fast EtherCAT networks can control industrial processes via this compact terminal. It can generate output currents ranging from 4 to 20 milliamps. The output power from each analog output channel is supplied to the industrial process at 12 bit resolution. The output channel ground potential is common to the 24 Volts DC supply. LED indicators on the terminal provides visual indication of the signal states. The EL4024 terminal provides 24 Volts DC output via the power contacts. It supports distributed clocks. The precision of the distributed clocks is less than 1 microsecond. The output load should be less than 350 Ohms. Short-circuit protection is available on the analog outputs.

The specified output error is less than 0.1%. Approximately 500 Volts of electrical isolation is available between the signal voltage and E-bus. The terminal requires approximately 250 microseconds for conversion. Current consumption of the power contacts and the E-bus is 50 milliamps and 140 milliamps respectively. Special features available on the unit include optional watchdog, user synchronization, and ramp with user-specific output. The ideal ambient temperature for terminal use is -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. Unused terminals should be kept in an environment where the temperature is kept between -40 and +85 degrees. Operators can use the unit various installation positions. Its protection class is IP20. The approximate dimensions are 12 x 100 x 68 millimeters and the approximate unit weight is 60 grams. Beckhoff recommends using AWG 14 to 28 wire size for terminal connections. Either flexible or solid copper conductors can be used.
