Product Description:

The EL4018-0000 performs as an advanced EtherCAT terminal that is capable of providing eight digital DAC outputs over the 0 to 20 mA range via eight Digital Outputs, in 0.25mA resolution. The EL4018 belongs to the series of Beckhoff degrees CE~s EL EtherCAT Terminals and provides robust performance in distributed control system applications where analog signal generation is required at the highest level of accuracy.

The 12 bit per channel resolution of this terminal ensures dependable signal granularity for actuator control, transducer, and other current driven devices control. It supports distributed clock functionality with sub-microsecond precision, enabling high-speed synchronization across the EtherCAT network. This allows users to implement tight control loops in time-critical systems. The EL4018 was powered by a 24 V DC supply using power contacts, and consumes according to typical current values of 50 mA in the power contacts and 100 mA in the E-bus. Each channel has a load of 150 ohm per output channel and the conversion time per channel is about 400 us. The module has been designed for continued and consistent performance and features optional watchdog support, user configurable ramp outputs, and user synchronization support to ensure that safety is maintained and continuity within automated processes.

Weighing in at just around 65 grams, small enough to fit into control cabinets with tight spacing, the EL4018 is compact. Its operating temperatures of -25C to +60C make it rely on it in all manners of ecosystems. EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 EMC standards compliant terminals ensure its use in industrial environments with high electromagnetic interference tolerance. Overall, the EL4018 presents as a simple and precise analog output solution for current based control in modern automation systems.
