The EL3692 analog input terminal from Beckhoff is designed to directly measure resistance and can accommodate two input channels. Beckhoff is known for making automation solutions that work well with other automation systems. On the EL3692 analog input terminal, there are nine distinct measuring ranges, which span from 0 to 100 MΩ to 0 to 10 MΩ. This facilitates the adaptation to a variety of sensor types and applications. The device can use both 2-wire and 4-wire measurement methods. The 4-wire method is more accurate because it accounts for lead resistance. In 4-wire mode, the terminal has a resolution of 24 bits and a measurement error of less than ±0.5% compared to the full-scale number. The E-bus supplies power to the input interface, which typically requires 220 mA. It comes with an input filter that has a limit frequency of 100 Hz and built-in LEDs that show when the wire fails. Depending on the measure range and settings, the conversion time can be between 10 to 400 ms. The terminal is inside a small plastic case that is 12 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm and is made to be mounted on a DIN rail. It meets the standards for EMC and shaking and is approved by CE, CCC, UL, ATEX, and IECEx.

Within a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C, the input end can handle up to 95% relative humidity without condensation.
