Product Description:

EL3423 is an industrial EtherCAT terminal. It is produced by Beckhoff for industrial automation solutions. The terminal measures connected voltages internally. It can accept three current inputs or three voltage inputs. The input update internal is greater than 10 seconds. The terminal can measure energy, power and the power quality factor. The maximum measured AC voltage is 480 Volts AC (three-phase). The maximum measuring current is 1 Amps via current transformers. Beckhoff specifies 0.5% measurement error/uncertainty. Approximately 2500 Volts of electrical isolation is provided for safety. Current consumption of the E-bus is 120 milliamps. Special terminal features include optional one phase operation and mains monitoring. Weight of the EL3423 terminal is 75 grams. The operating temperature is -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The terminal has a compact design with signal LEDs. Its housing is made of polycarbonate material. Dimensions of the EL3423 terminal are 12 x 100 x 68 millimeters. It is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail that conforms to EN 60715 with a lock. Side by side mounting of multiple terminals is possible via double slot and a key connection. Either solid or flexible conductors can be used for terminal wiring. Beckhoff recommends AWG 14 to 28 for solid wires and AWG 14 to 28 for flexible conductors. The recommended stripping length is 8 to 9 millimeters. The maximum current load for the power contacts is 10 Amps. The terminal calculated energy consumption and power for each connected phase. Power quality measuring function provides important insight into power quality metrics, which can help improve power quality for equipment and process reliability.
