This Beckhoff’s product EL3210 EtherCAT Terminal is a compact dual-channel analog input module which is ideal for industrial automation applications needing accurate voltage measurements. This EL3210 EtherCAT Terminal provides a ±10 V input range with high precision by making it a reliable choice for sensitive measurements. This module supports two differential inputs and offers 16-bit resolution. Its power is supplied via E-bus with a typical current consumption of around 170 mA. Its conversion time is approximately 60 µs in standard mode and it can achieve even faster measurements (~40 µs) in fast mode. This enables quick response times by making it suitable for real-time applications. This EL EtherCAT terminal module includes distributed clocks with a precision of less than 1 µs for networked systems. It also has a high internal resistance of over 200 kohms which ensures minimal interference with connected systems. The terminal’s common-mode voltage can reach up to 35 V relative to the internal ground and the input filter limits frequency to 5 kHz for signal clarity. Its polycarbonate housing is compact (12 mm wide) and fits on a 35 mm DIN rail.
The EL3210 EtherCAT Terminal electrical isolation between the E-bus and signal voltage is provided up to 500 V by enhancing safety in electrical environments. The terminal also includes error monitoring with measurement below ±0.3% relative to the full-scale value by providing trustworthy accuracy. The EL3210 conforms to various safety standards by including CE, UL, ATEX, and IECEx certifications and is designed for easy DIN rail mounting and includes spring-actuated wiring for solid and flexible conductors. It requires and operating temperature range of -25°C to +60°C.
