Product Description:
The Beckhoff EL3204 is an analog input terminal that can be used for accurate measurement of temperature using RTD or Resistance Temperature Detector. It belongs to the EL Ethercat Terminals series. It has four supply channels for connection with the Pt100, Pt1000, and Ni1000. The EL3204 has a resolution of 0.1 degrees C per digit and a range of -200 degrees C ~ +850 degrees C with Pt sensors, which ensures detailed and accurate temperature readings in Industries. It has a two-wire connection and is connected via the E-bus. Its interfaces do not require external wiring for command and supply power.
The working principle of EL Ethercat Terminals depends on the modular I/O concept that Beckhoff has developed. These terminals are connected to the Ethercat network, and every module is connected directly to the fieldbus system. The EL terminals are designed to provide high power through the E-bus while transmitting necessary data through the supply channels to ensure that it is done efficiently and in real-time. For the EL3204, an RTD sensor is connected, and the terminal provides a steady current, which is below 0.5 mA. As the operating resistance of the RTD sensor depends on temperature, so the terminal measures the temperature and then determines the resistance with the help of internal calibration and conversion formulas. It is based on digital filtering and has a variable conversion time of 2 - 800 ms, making the signal stable and easily adjustable.
It boasts an input filter frequency of 1 kHz. It also has features such as built-in digital filtering and limit value monitoring, therefore making it more suitable for any critical monitoring systems in which the threshold is crossed and immediate action is required.
