The EL3201-0010 is a high-precision EtherCAT Terminal with a 1-channel analog input for temperature (RTD). Manufactured by Beckhoff and part of the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series, it supports RTD Pt100/1000 ranges with UL approvals and explosion protection. It features a 16-bit signal resolution and operates in temperatures from -25°C to +60°C.

Product Description:

The EL3201-0010 is an EtherCAT Terminal that features a 1-channel analog input and is built by Beckhoff Automation to facilitate the direct connection of a resistance sensor. This product is renowned for its high-precision operation and mechanical stability. The resistance value measured by this product is communicated to operators in ohms or in temperature values. The measurement capability of this product is indicated through the Light Emitting Diodes and the status bits in the EtherCAT process image. The sensor types compatible with the EL3201-0010 EtherCAT terminal include the Pt100, Pt200, Pt1000, Ni120 and Ni1000, it also operates it a 4-wire connection technology. The temperature measurement range that can be carried out by Pt sensors is between -200 to about +850 degrees Celsius, while for the Ni sensors, the temperature range is between -60 to approximately 250 degrees Celsius. The measurement resolution is 0.01 degree Celsius per digit.

The EL3201-0010 is designed for indoor operation; its housing is also measured to provide protection that meets the IP20 protection class. The configuration of this product can be through the use of an TwinCAT System Manager; the current consumption through the E-bus is also about 190 milliamperes. The terminal operates with a simultaneous sampling type; it also works with a single-ended ground reference. The conversion time on the EL3201-0010 during operation is between 4 to about 500 milliseconds depending on the configuration and filter setting of the operator.

The EL3201-0010 offer the option to take a resistance measurement and evaluate a resistance sensor by computational transformation of resistance to temperature. The approximate weight of this terminal is 60 grams. It is also designed for indoor installation, in a control cabinet that can provide protection that meets the IP54 rating.
