Beckhoff EL3152-0000 is designed as a compact EtherCAT terminal for current measurement using two single-ended inputs which operates in the 4 to 20 mA signal range. This device is best suitable for applications in industrial automation particularly in process control and monitoring. This terminal has the respectable 16-bit resolution (with a sign) with the measurement error of less than ±0.3%. This means the data acquisition is reliable and accurate.

The EL3152-0000 converts approximately 60 microseconds to complete a process, with an additional faster mode that takes only 40 microseconds for completion. This allows for immediacy and real time responsiveness. With regards to the input filter limit frequency, the EL3152-0000 uses 5kHz to lessen noise. In addition, the terminal is designed with low-pass FIR/IIR filters, limit value monitoring functions which help in efficient operational and safety measures.

The terminal consumes 170 mA of power from the E-bus, and it provides 8 bytes of input data which efficiently integrates with the EtherCAT networks. Its internal resistance is the sum of 85 Ohms and the forward voltage of the diodes and this is important in ensuring that it can work in different conditions. The relatively low maximum dielectric strength of 30 V ensures that safety is provided in cases where a voltage surge is likely to happen. The weight of the EL3152-0000 is nearly 60 grams with a storage temperature of -40°C and an operating range of -25 to +60 degrees. It conforms to EN 60715 specifications in the sense that it is designed to be snapped onto 35 mm DIN rails and the shroud must not be displace when screwing down the rails to the housing. Disconnection is quick and straightforward using the orange lugs which latch the terminal to a mounting rail; releasing these lugs allows instant removal.
