Product Description:

The EL3152 EtherCAT Terminal is an analog current measurement I/O module with the highest precision for industrial environments. It is manufactured by Beckhoff which develops open automation systems based on PC control technology.

The EL3152 EtherCAT Terminal has two single-ended analog inputs for 4…20 mA signals. It is powered by the E-bus, and thus integrated seamlessly in EtherCAT networks. Highly accurate signal acquisition and synchronization is supported by the terminal with distributed clocks. It has an internal resistance of about 85 Ω plus diode voltage. To reduce signal noise, an input filter with a limit frequency of 5 kHz is included. The dielectric strength of the device reaches a maximum of 30 V, the device is protected against over-voltage conditions. Conversion time is about 60 µs and a faster mode is about 40 µs. It provides 16 bit resolution with the sign bit and can be used for precise signal digitization. Below ±0.3% relative to full scale value, the measurement uncertainty is maintained. The E-bus consumes 170 mA typical current consumption while no current is drawn from the power contacts. To work in varying conditions, the EL3152 EtherCAT Terminal operates in an ambient temperature range of -25°C to +60°C. The storage temperature lies between -40°C and +85°C and has no effect on the performance of the device. The terminal is designed for industrial automation systems, allowing for efficient and high speed acquisition of analog current signals.

The EL3152 EtherCAT Terminal provides the real time control application with its fast sampling rate and distributed clocks. It can be applied to decentralize automation solutions and has a compact size and integration capability. With its high-resolution 16-bit data acquisition, precision is ensured and low measurement error allows demanding measurement and control tasks. The EL3152 is a reliable signal conditioning for process control, machine monitoring and other industrial automation applications.
