The EL3064 analog input terminal is produced by Beckhoff as part of the EL EtherCAT Terminals series. This I/O module converts low-level process voltages into digital values that a controller can read over an EtherCAT fieldbus. In machine automation, it is installed on a DIN rail alongside other terminals and provides voltage sensing for pressure transducers, potentiometers, or similar sensors.

The module offers 4 analog input channels, allowing the controller to monitor four independent voltage signals in one 12 mm housing. Each channel accepts a signal range of 0 to 10 V, which is common for industrial transducers and other voltage-output devices. The conversion resolution is 12 bits, so the measured span is digitized into 4096 discrete steps for accurate signal reading. A hardware input filter with a cutoff frequency of 1 kHz suppresses higher-frequency noise before sampling, which helps preserve signal quality in electrically noisy cabinets. The device does not support distributed clocks, but it does support configuration data storage. Its process image provides 2 bytes of status and 2 bytes of value per channel, giving the PLC direct access to current measurements during each bus cycle.
