Product Description:
The EL3058 from Beckhoff is an analog input module made to work with industrial control systems. Eight single-ended input channels on the module can handle current sources between 4 and 20 mA. The module ensures that data is collected reliably and that signals are accurate by digitizing them with a 12-bit precision and transmitting them to higher-level control devices in a manner that maintains their electrical separation.
The EL3058 analog input module comes with a small terminal enclosure that has signal LEDs and can hold both normal and small process images. The module has limit value monitoring and FIR/IIR input filters that can be turned on and off. The error LEDs are made to quickly show when a wire is broken or overloaded, and each channel is protected by an internal current limiter. The input filter maximum frequency on the module is set to 1 kHz, and it can separate up to 500 V of signal voltage from the E-bus. The input module can be put on a 35 mm DIN rail that meets EN 60715 standards, and a screwdriver can be used to release a spring that makes it easy to wire solid, single, or ferrule conductors. Wiring for all ESxxxx terminals can be plugged into the module, and the connection cross-sections can range from 0.08 mm² to 2.5 mm², depending on the conductor in use.
The EL3058 analog input module has markings for CE, CCC, ATEX, and IECEx, which mean it can be used in controlled settings. The module can handle a dielectric strength of up to 30 V, and the mistake in measurement is less than 0.3% of the full-scale value. The input module is 12 mm wide, 100 mm tall, and 68 mm thick. It is made of polycarbonate. The module can be installed in many different places and is protected by IP20 standards.
Frequently Asked Questions about EL3058:
Q: How do the error LEDs on EL3058 assist diagnostics?
A: The EL3058 error LEDs indicate overload or broken wire conditions for each channel, enabling quick identification and resolution of signal faults.
Q: Why is the input filter limit frequency set to 1 kHz on EL3058?
A: The 1 kHz input filter limit frequency on the EL3058 ensures accurate signal processing by filtering out unwanted high-frequency noise.
Q: Does EL3058 require an address or configuration settings?
A: No, the EL3058 is designed for plug-and-play operation and does not require any address or configuration settings, simplifying installation.
Q: Why does EL3058 have an internal current limitation?
A: The EL3058 uses internal current limitation to protect input channels from overcurrent, preventing damage and reducing downtime during faults.
Q: Does EL3058 support electrical isolation for safety?
A: Yes, the EL3058 provides 500 V electrical isolation between the E-bus and signal voltage, ensuring safe signal transmission and system integrity.
