Beckhoff International’s EL3041 is part of the robust EtherCAT terminal series, boasting electrical isolation and an accurate set of electronic sensors. Characterized by its single channel for an analog input, the EL3041 can accommodate continuous time signals ranging from 0 to 20 mA. Unlike other Beckhoff’s analog input terminals, this device is signal-ended and does not use a differential signal. Compared to terminals employing differential signals, single-ended terminals such as the EL3041 utilize only two wires, one of which is for the signal line. Differential terminals, on the other hand, dedicate two wires for two complementary signals. Due to their complexity, differential terminals are slightly more expensive.

The EL3041, like other Beckhoff analog input terminals, has an internal resistance of 85 ohms and an input filter limit frequency of 1 kHz. The electronic components on this unit’s control board draw power from the E-bus. During operation, the EL3041’s E-bus draws a typical current of 130 mA. The EL3041 features standard polycarbonate housing, allowing it to achieve a relatively high dielectric strength. This EtherCAT terminal also features two status LEDs for diagnostics. The EL3041 can have two possible design forms. The default design form features a compact terminal housing with LEDs, while the alternate design form features a terminal housing with pluggable wiring level.

Regardless of the EL3041’s design form, it utilizes a 35 mm DIN rail for mounting. According to Beckhoff’s documentation, the EL3041 has a weight of 60 grams and the following approximate dimensions: 12 mm, 100 mm, and 68 mm. This electrical module also employs a 0 V power contact that serves as the reference voltage for the analog input. Wake Industrial offers the EL3041 with a one-year warranty.
