Product Description:
EL3021 is a Beckhoff 1-channel analog input terminal. It can process input signals ranging from 4 to 20 milliamps. The terminal digitizes inputs using 12-bit resolution. The digital signal is transmitted to automation devices at the higher process level. The input channel has differential input. The terminal can detect overload and open lead conditions. Status of the terminal is sent to the controller through the E-bus. Signal state of the terminal is indicated by LEDs. Error LEDs provide indications for broken wires or overloads. The EL3021 terminal obtains power via the E-bus. Internal resistance of the unit is typically 85 Ohms plus the diode voltage. Limit frequency for the input filter is 1 kilohertz. The maximum common-mode voltage level is 10 Volts. At the default setting the conversion time is 0.625 milliseconds.
This conversion time is configurable. With the sign bit the resolution of the terminal increases to 16 bits. Relative to full scale, the measurement error is less than 0.3%. The maximum surge voltage resistance is 35 Volts. The EL3021 terminal provides 500 Volts of electrical isolation for safety. Current drawn by the E-bus is typically 130 milliamps. Bit width of the input signal in the process image is 4 bytes. Special features supported by the terminal include limit value monitoring, finite impulse response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, and standard/compact process images. Weight and dimensions of the terminal enclosure are 55 grams and 12 millimeters x 100 millimeters x 68 millimeters. A standard DIN rail with 35 millimeter dimensions can be used for mounting of the EtherCAT terminal. With an IP20 protection rating, this terminal is suited to indoor use.
