Product Description:
The EL3012 is an excellent analog input terminal created in Germany by the international company Beckhoff. As an input terminal, the EL3012 can process two simultaneous differential analog signals ranging from 0 to 20 mA. Similar to other electric modules released by Beckhoff under the EtherCAT product line, this unit has a resolution of 12 bits and boasts electrical isolation. It comes with a robust housing and detects overload conditions when they occur. This electrical module has two light-emitting diode diagnostics. During normal operation, the RUN LED is normally illuminated. The error LED activates when it detects an overload condition. In total, the EL3012 has four LEDs, allocating two types of LEDs for each channel.
The EL3012’s front panel and chassis are made of sturdy polycarbonate material, allowing it to prevent accidental touch during operation. The EL3012 conforms to the standards of EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 for EMC immunity and emission, respectively. As a compact analog input terminal, this device can be used to process analog currents from other devices or modules and detect overload conditions when they occur. In automation systems, an overload signal can imply a physical value or signal that has exceeded beyond the system’s nominal condition.
Together with other controllers or actuators, the EL3012 can be used for closed-loop system control. Specifically, in such a system, the EL3012 serves as the feedback and monitoring device that will allow other controller units to perform separate actions during trigger events. Like all other differential analog input terminals, this device uses a reference signal to compare the analog inputs and determine whether an overload condition is achieved. During operation, the EL3012 can safely tolerate a maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius.
