The EL3011 is a single-channel analog input terminal designed by Beckhoff International for processing small current signals ranging from 0 to 20 mA. With its compact case construction and optimized contact ports, this robust EtherCAT terminal can be used for general-purpose automation systems. It features two status LEDs for displaying running status and error flags. Unlike other input terminals, the EL3011 provides a shield interface on its front panel. In total, it has two contact points for input, corresponding to the positive and negative terminals. The power contacts for this analog input terminal consist of the 24 V signal line and the 0 V signal line.

As an analog input terminal, the EL3011 processes analog current inputs and transforms them into an equivalent digital output. To digitize the analog input, the EL3011 makes use of a built-in analog-to-digital converter, boasting a resolution of 12 bits. This module provides electrical isolation and an interface port for the internal ground. The EL3011 is best for critical applications sensitive to overload conditions. Whenever this device detects an overload condition, it generates a warning signal, triggering the error LED. This module can be connected to other controllers and host units that can perform certain actions after an error signal is generated.
