Product Description:

The EL2911-2200 is an advanced EtherCAT terminal built by Beckhoff Automation to supplement and improve the already incredible EtherCAT communication system. This product is a TwinSAFE component that combines safety and input/output technology in one system. The unique design of this product makes it possible for customers to integrate it into any Fieldbus system. The EL2911-2200 serves as a safe potential feed terminal for the power contacts for a downstream potential group; it also has four fail-safe inputs for sensors with potential free contacts for 24 volts. The housing design of this product is according to the usual design of a 24-millimetre EtherCAT terminal from Beckhoff Automation; there are no power contacts on the left side where a new potential group can be connected.

The EL2911-2200 is a pure input and output component that can not function as an integrated safety component like all other members of this product group. It is also approved for use in applications that feature a defined fail-safe state. The housing of this product provides protection according to the IP20 protection class; the product is vulnerable to dust and other foreign interference. The operation of the EtherCAT terminal should be restricted to indoor applications. Operators are also required to provide basic protection against direct contact.

It takes the EL2911-2200 about 4 milliseconds to read inputs and write to the E-bus. Also, the fault reaction time was determined to be equal to or less than the watchdog time set by the operator. The input and output process image of this product is about 6 bytes, and the supply voltage is approximately 24 volts. Electrical isolation is provided between the channel and the E-bus present on the terminal; this isolation is not provided between individual Channels.
