Product Description:

The Beckhoff EL2872-0010 is a member of the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series as provided with digital output , very efficient in the control of ohmic, inductive or lamp loads. With a nominal working voltage of 24 V DC (-15% +20 % tolerance), this terminal is suitable for automation systems with high packaging density, providing reliable and fast output switching of a number of channels. All the 16 output channels can provide 0.5 A of output current and have short circuit protection which enhances the performance and protects the connected devices. Time needed to switch on an output is 50 µs, time to switch it off is 200 µs. The terminal is designed to be used where changes of output states are to be rapidly achieved and accurately provided.

EL2872-0010 draws 130 mA current from the E bus and 25 mA plus load from the power contacts which indicates an efficient utilization of resources. It measures about 55 g in weight, small space occupancy and IP20 protective degree which add to its ability to be installed in controlled environments. 35 mm DIN rails are used for mounting the terminal in compliance with EN 60715 instruction, all the mounting position ducts are usable.

Given the demands of their environment, the terminal can be trusted to perform reliably since it conforms to the EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 standard for vibration and the EN 60068-2-27 standard for shock. The same can be said to the use of low battery in machines as this terminal adheres to EMC requirements for immunity EN 61000-6-2 and emission EN 61000-6-4 standards that ensure stable operation of electrically noisy machines.
