Product Description:

The Beckhoff EL2596-0010 terminal module is an EtherCAT terminal intended for both precise triggering of camera shots and LED drives. The EL EtherCAT Terminal Series includes this unit which allows use of distributed clocks with precision 1 µs thus making this device suitable for such applications as machine vision or high industrial speed processes with many timed events. This terminal operates on 48 V DC input (with low - 15% and high + 20% tolerance) in operation. It is capable of controlling LED loads and has several operational modes within constant voltage, constant current and PWM scope. The maximum output voltage can reach up to (UIN-2V). The LED control can work in pulsed mode providing up to 3 A or in constant mode 1.2 A which allows this module to be used in applications needing short and controlled exposure of tight light and steady light.

In the configuration of the EL2596-0010, both the trigger input and the trigger output have been included to allow for easy integration of a camera. The trigger output is isolated in electrical terms and provides 10 to 24 VDC at a maximum current of 10 mA, ensuring proper operation of the external cameras. A camera trigger can be controlled by a voltage source between 4 to 24 V DC with a sensitive input that accepts currents of up to 3mA, improving the operational range with a number of cameras.

Both time periods - TON and TOFF - are less than 1 microsecond allowing the terminal to generate precise pulses of 25 microseconds to 10 seconds appropriate for high speed applications. It takes 265 mA from E-bus and has a mass of about 55 grams. Temperature range of operation is from 0 degrees Celsius to +55 degrees Celsius while a temperature of storage can be -25 degrees Celsius which assures a large variety of applications.
