Product Description:
The EL2564 is from the EL terminals series developed by Beckhoff. It functions as a four-channel digital output device made for LED control applications while supporting input voltage from 5 to 48 VDC. The EL terminal possess an IP20 protection class and holds CE marking to demonstrate safety directive compliance.
The EL2564 EL EtherCAT terminal has LEDs connected in common anode setup and allows four independent-colored LEDs RGBW. Each output channel provides a maximum current output of 4 A while reflecting the entire input voltage without change. The EL25 EtherCAT has a PWM control scheme which enables accurate control of individual LED channels. Teletronics solutions set the PWM frequency range from 1 Hz to 16 kHz at a standard default value of 5 kHz while each channel allows users to set its duty cycle between 0 and 100% for independent color mixing control. The EL25 EtherCAT enables to control brightness levels throughout its configuration interface for ramp time duration and gamma signal adjustment. The frequency settings achieve controlled visible flashing at lower frequencies while suppressing stroboscopic effects. The resolution of the output reaches 15 bits based on the frequency selector. The EL25 EtherCAT can be configured through the TwinCAT System platform.
The EL2564 EL EtherCAT terminal can be connected by using two-wire technology and operate with all three conductor types including solid, flexible and ferrule. It supports conductor cross-section of AWG28 to 14 for solid and flexible wires while AWG26 to 16 for ferrule connections. The EL25 EtherCAT’s housing system allows installation on 35 mm DIN rail with side-by-side mounting. Its power contact current capacity is 10 A while the E-bus requires 70 mA to operate this device.
Frequently Asked Questions about EL2564:
Q: Why does the EL2564 EL EtherCAT use a ground-switching PWM scheme?
A: Ground-switching allows better thermal management and reduced voltage drop across switching elements, improving efficiency and LED color consistency in high-current applications.
Q: How does the 15-bit resolution of the EL2564 enhance LED control?
A: The 15-bit resolution provides 32,768 discrete brightness levels, enabling ultra-fine dimming and more accurate color mixing in RGBW setups.
Q: What is the advantage of common anode LED configuration in EL2564 EL EtherCAT?
A: This configuration simplifies power distribution and thermal design, especially in systems requiring independent channel control and high output current per channel.
Q: Why is the EL2564's PWM frequency range important for LED applications?
A: Its 1 Hz to 16,000 Hz frequency range allows it to avoid flickering and stroboscopic effects, which are crucial in motion-sensitive or camera-visible lighting environments.
Q: What role does the TwinCAT System play in configuring the EL2564 EL EtherCAT?
A: TwinCAT provides a software interface for setting PWM frequencies, ramp time, duty cycles and gamma adjustments, streamlining commissioning and integration.
