Product Description:

The EL2535-0002 is a unique and highly effective EtherCAT terminal produced by Beckhoff Automation to improve on the EtherCAT communication system it developed in 2003. This terminal is equipped with a pulse width modulation output state, which helps it control the output current delivered to a connected inductive load. The full supply voltage pulsating with a certain frequency is fed into the output, and a load current only develops at the inductance at the high level. Also, the load current is not changed by changing the voltage level but by the duration of the switch-off in relation to the period duration. This results in a duty factor that is proportional to the load current. The load inductance used with this device should not be less than 1 millihenry.

The EL2535-0002 EtherCAT terminal is designed to meet the IP20 protection class; it should be installed in a suitable housing that guarantees a protection class of at least IP54 protection in accordance with EN 60079-15. The recommended ambient temperature around this product is between 0 to 55 degrees; if the terminal is to be used at an ambient temperature that exceeds this range, then cables whose temperature data correspond to the actual measured temperature values must be selected.

There are two output stages on this device; for each output channel, a current of about 1 Ampere is delivered. There is also a thermal overload warning for both output stages on the terminal. The PWM clock frequency is about 30 kilohertz, while the nominal voltage at the input interface on the product is about 24 volts. This product maintains a resolution of 10 bits. Also, about 110 milliamperes of current is consumed through the E-bus on the terminal.
