The EL2042 EtherCAT Terminal is manufactured by Beckhoff with high output reliability. It has two independent 24 V DC outputs with 3-wire connection technology. Each channel supports a maximum output current of 4.0 A. Both outputs can be connected in parallel for up to 8 A total. The terminal provides short-circuit protection with a typical current below 70 A. It includes reverse voltage protection for safe operation.

The EL2042 EtherCAT Terminal supports each channel that allows a breaking energy of less than 1.7 J. Typical switching times are 40 µs for turn-on and 200 µs for turn-off. This terminal consumes approximately 120 mA from the E-bus system. The E-bus and field potential are electrically isolated at 500 V in the terminal. It has a power contacts that require around 15 mA plus the output load. The bit width in the process image includes two digital outputs. It ensures robust performance in industrial environments.
