Product Description:
The EL2002 is an EtherCAT terminal, made by Beckhoff. Ethernet-based fieldbus system communications are designed for real-time industrial automation implementation. It is designed for high-speed and deterministic communication. It can update hundreds of I/O in microseconds and supports cycle times less than 100 microseconds. EL2002 is a digital output terminal that connects control signals at 24 Volts DC from automation devices to process actuators. The terminal provides electrical isolation which is necessary for device safety and reliability. The terminal has two channels and status LEDs display their operating status. The terminal can connect to different types of loads. It can deliver up to 0.5 Amps current per channel. The output circuits on the terminal support are protected from short-circuits and reverse-polarity. Connection technology used on the terminal is 4-wire. The nominal voltage is 24 Volts DC.
Supported loads include lamp load, inductive, and ohmic loads. The breaking energy per channel is less than 150 millijoules. The typical switching time for the ON state is 60 microseconds and that for the OFF state is 300 microseconds. Current drawn by the E-bus is 100 milliamps. The power contacts on the terminal draw typically 15 milliamps plus the load current. No configuration or address setting is required. Isolation between the field potential and the E-bus is 500 Volts. Weight of the EL2002 terminal is 55 grams. The operating temperature ranges from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius and the storage temperature ranges from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. Protection category of the device is IP20. The device is ATEX marked which means it can be used in explosive atmospheres. Dimensions of the terminal are 12 x 100 x 68 millimeters.
