Product Description:
Beckhoff developed the EL1872 Digital input EtherCAT Terminal is a compact I/O module that provides 16 digital input channels for industrial automation. Because it uses a flat-ribbon cable connection, the terminal is easy to integrate into control cabinets and simplifies channel wiring.
With a nominal voltage of 24 V DC and a tolerance of -15% to +20%, the EL1872 digital input EtherCAT terminal has sixteen digital inputs. A maximum rated current of 1 A is supported by each of the connection pins. The digital input terminal's quick input filter enables fast signal processing, typically with a reaction time of 10 µs. If the input voltage is between -3 and +5 V, the signal is considered a "0," and if it is between 11 and 30 V, the signal is considered a "1". No address or configuration settings are required, and the process image has a bit width of 16 inputs. The temperature range for the terminal is -25°C to +85°C for keeping and 0°C to 55°C for use. The housing is ideal because it is IP20 rated and can be installed in a variety of locations. LEDs placed into each channel indicate the signal condition at any moment.
The EL1872 terminal has certifications from CE, CCC, UL, ATEX, and IECEx, which means it satisfies criteria for protection and compliance. In accordance with EN 60715, the terminal's polycarbonate enclosure allows it to be placed on a 35 mm DIN rail. At 500 V, the E-bus and field potential are electrically isolated. For tasks involving efficient wiring in automation systems and dependable digital input acquisition, this input terminal is suitable due to its direct connection technology and quick input response.
