The Beckhoff EL1819-0000 is an input terminal for EtherCAT systems with 16 individual inputs of digital signals. This compact terminal is perfect for usage in applications requiring fast input signals with a nominal voltage of 24 V DC (ranges between -15 and +20% of the voltage). The device has a weight of 65 grams and incorporates direct plug in technology to ensure that its installation is easy and reduces the need for wiring.

Complying with EN 61131-2, this input terminal recognizes a ‘Low’ (“0”) signal represented between -3 and +5 volts in conjunction with a ‘High’ (“1”) signal between 11 and 30 volts, therefore, making it applicable for a variety of signal types. A standard 3 mA current flows through each input channel and an input filter with a time constant of 10 µs is also present to suppress any noise from the input signal.

The EL1819-0000 draws 100 mA current from the EtherCAT E bus enabling as well as drawing 4mA plus load from power contacts hence conserving energy within the network. This terminal also has certifications by CE, UL and ATEX evidencing its safety and suitability for many industrial applications. This unit has an IP20 rating for protection from dust or moisture penetration into a device and with different installation positions it is only meant to protect the device in environments where exposure to dust or moisture is minimal. Able to operate within a temperature range of between -25 to +60 degrees Celsius and store the device has the ability to monitor high frequency signals due to the high channel counts which enable the device to store temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius.
