Product Description:
Beckhoff makes the EL1722 two-channel digital input Ether CAT terminal that can get binary control data from the process level. The power level will not be altered if the automation device is directly connected to 120/230 V AC data. The signal's vitality is indicated by the presence of green LEDs.
For "1," it can handle 79 to 260 V, and for "0," it can handle 0 to 40 V. The EL1722 two-channel digital input Ether CAT terminal needs at least 120/230 V AC power to work. About 6 mA of current is required to screen, and this current is sustained for 10 ms. The switch takes 10 ms. It can connect lines that are between 0.08 mm and 2.5 mm thick. Its body is 100 mm tall, 12 mm wide, and 68 mm deep. It's about 60 grams heavy. According to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, it is safe for EMC and doesn't give off any dangerous fumes. It also has to meet certain standards for how well it can handle being shocked and shaken (EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27).
The EL1722 terminal can work with a solid, single, or ferrule conductor. The stripped wire must be 8 to 9 mm long, though. It takes up about 90 mA through the E-bus. The interface meets the safety standards of CE, EAC, UKCA, and cULus, as it measures up to IP20. The terminal is secured in position by a 35 mm DIN rail that satisfies the EN 60715 standards. One of the extremities is located at Terminal 1, which is designated for Input 1. The other two are for Input 2, which is located at Terminal 5, and the neutral wire for Input 2, which is located at Terminal 7 and is connected internally to Terminal 3.
Frequently Asked Questions about EL1722:
Q: Why does EL1722 have 10 ms switching times?
A: The 10 ms switching time ensures fast and reliable signal detection suitable for industrial automation processes. It balances speed and noise immunity.
Q: How does EL1722 achieve electrical isolation?
A: It provides 500 V isolation between E-bus and mains voltage and withstands 3750 V AC for 1 minute to protect connected devices.
Q: Why is the input filter set to 10 ms in EL1722?
A: The 10-ms input filter reduces signal noise and prevents false triggering in fluctuating voltage environments.
Q: Does EL1722 support different conductor types?
A: Yes, it supports solid, stranded, and ferrule conductors with cross-sections from 0.08 to 2.5 mm² for versatile wiring.
Q: How does EL1722 indicate signal states?
A: Green LEDs indicate input signals; off means 0 to 40 V, and on means 79 to 260 V, providing clear visual feedback.
