Product Description:
The EL1098-0000 is a state-of-the-art digital input terminal from Beckhoff Automation; it is designed to acquire binary control signals from a higher process level and then transmit them in an electrically isolated form to a higher-level automation device. This product is equipped with input filters which help to prevent electrical interference and high-frequency voltage, the input filter has a typical speed of 10 microseconds. The digital input channel is equipped with about eight digital inputs, which is particularly suitable for multiple-channel sensors with single-wire connections. The product also features several LEDs that help operators monitor the signal state at each of the digital inputs. The nominal voltage of the inputs on this device is about 24 volts; also, the input current is approximately about three milliseconds.
At each power contact present on the EL1098-0000 digital input terminal, about 25 milliamperes of current is consumed; also, the current consumption through the E-bus is approximately 90 milliamperes. The housing of this product provides protection according to the IP20 protection class, to prevent machine damage, customers should ensure the input terminal is protected from dust, water spray, and other types of environmental contaminants.
