The CX9010-1102 is an embedded PC manufactured by Beckhoff in the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Installed on a DIN rail beside modular terminals, it replaces traditional PLC hardware by integrating computation, networking, and fieldbus coupling in one compact housing. It serves as the central platform for machine sequencing, motion interpolation, and data exchange while keeping control hardware compact.

It uses a 533 MHz clock generated by the Intel IXP420 processor, which is sufficient for deterministic PLC cycles and real-time fieldbus routing. Working data reside in 128 MByte RAM, while the operating image and user program are stored in a soldered 32 MByte flash device that tolerates vibration better than removable media.
