The module consolidates processor, memory, Ethernet, and I/O bus coupling inside a 24 mm housing so control functions can be placed directly in a cabinet without a separate industrial computer. It targets distributed installations such as conveyor zones, compact filling machines, and HVAC controllers where space and power budgets are constrained. This layout also keeps the controller close to terminal-level wiring, which helps simplify panel organization and short local signal paths.

Processing tasks are handled by an ARM926EJ-S core running at 400 MHz, providing deterministic cycle times for typical logic and visualization loads. Program code and variable buffers reside in 64 MB of SDRAM, while process images that must survive power loss are copied into the non-volatile 128 kB NOVRAM. The controller boots a trimmed Windows CE 6.0 operating system that supplies real-time extensions, a FAT filesystem, and a TCP/IP stack for engineering access, OPC connectivity, and web-based diagnostics. This platform supports routine automation duties where stable execution, retained data, and direct network access are required from a compact control unit.

I/O expansion is attached by the K-bus header on the right side, and network integration uses the 10/100BASE-TX port for peer-to-peer or switch-based topologies. The plastic housing reaches the IP20 protection level, restricting its use to clean, enclosed cabinets but eliminating the need for additional gasketing. Application data are stored on a hot-pluggable MicroSD card that can be cloned when identical control images are needed on multiple machines. Electronics are powered from a regulated 24 V DC source, and an onboard capacitor bank maintains logic supply for 1 s so that the system can finish variable backup when input power is interrupted and then shut down in an orderly manner.
