Product Description:
The CX8095 is an embedded control PC produced by Beckhoff within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Serving as the central processor for modular K-bus or E-bus I/O terminals, the unit bridges discrete field wiring to higher-level networks and executes PLC logic directly on the DIN rail. By combining processing, communication, and local power distribution in one housing, it provides a compact platform for machine, building, and process automation tasks that require deterministic control and Ethernet-based factory integration.
Its computing section uses a 400 MHz ARM9 core partnered with 64 MB of RAM, delivering deterministic cycle times for typical PLC workloads. Application code, boot files, and nonvolatile logs reside on a 512 MB microSD card that is accessible from the front panel without removing the controller. An integrated EtherNet/IP slave port enables cyclic data exchange with higher-level scanners, while the local K-bus image offers 2 kB of input capacity and 2 kB of output capacity for terminal signals. The backplane can draw up to 2 A from the internal supply, and a total of 10 W is available to E-bus or K-bus modules before additional feed segments are required. Control electronics are energized from a 24 VDC source, while overall power dissipation stays below 3 W, minimizing heat inside the cabinet. Electrical isolation rated at 500 V separates the low-voltage logic from the field wiring and power rails.
The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, providing protection against finger contact and supporting installation inside protective switchgear cabinets. With physical dimensions of 64 × 100 × 73 mm, the unit occupies little DIN-rail space and leaves clearance for wide terminal stacks. Separate power contacts can carry up to 10 A to supply downstream I/O channels. A built-in supercapacitor-based uninterruptible power supply maintains logic power for one second, allowing the controller to save process data during a sudden loss of mains power.
