Product Description:

The CX8051 is an embedded PC from the CX Embedded PC Systems series. It features a setup of a processor compatible with the 8051 and operates at a core frequency up to 40 MHz. The program memory of the embedded PC flash memory is 64 KB, while the data is stored in 4 KB of RAM. Due to the fact that the CX8051 can support up to 34 digital input/output pins, it is well suited for feedback control during the operation of multiple devices in automation systems. This device can be connected easily with other components using various communication interfaces, like UART, SPI, I2C, etc. The device runs at a wide voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V and operates in a very harsh environment within the operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. Additionally, there are three 16-bit timers/counters, a watchdog timer, as well as EEPROM storage of up to 2 KB for saving important settings.

The CX8051 has an on-chip oscillator with a running speed of 16 MHz, according to which the CX8051's running speed is controlled. The PC does not need an extra external clock because it uses the built-in clock of the operating system or processor, allowing it to function properly without additional hardware. The built-in oscillator helps save space, allowing the device to have a more compact design and fit more easily into smaller units.

The CX8051 PC has a real-time clock (RTC) that tracks the time or date even when the main system is powered off. This feature is particularly reliable for applications where the system requires time-stamped data or needs to execute scheduled operations.
