The CX5140-0162 is a member of the CX5100 series and is designed to offer dependable automation control in a compact package. The Beckhoff approach is designed to accommodate a wide range of control and connectivity requirements in industrial automation by integrating hardware and software. 

The embedded PC has four USB 2.0 ports, two Gig Ethernet ports, and a DVI-I video output that works with resolutions from 640x480 to 1920x1200. The CX5140-0162 embedded PC includes an Intel Atom E3845 quad-core processor that runs at 1.91 GHz and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM that cannot be expanded. It is also possible for both E-bus and K-bus stations to recognize themselves automatically. The CX5140 embedded PC has a 1-second UPS, 1 MB of persistent memory on the CFast card, and flash memory ports for both CFast and MicroSD cards. It takes 16 W of power to run the embedded PC, which is powered by a 24 V DC source. The power used goes up to 23 W while the UPS is charging. This embedded PC can work in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +60°C and can handle up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, and can also be kept in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C, and has an IP20 rating. 

The CX5140-0162 embedded PC works with many Oss. The built-in PC meets the requirements of EN 60068-2-27 for resistance to impact and EN 60068-2-6 for resistance to shaking. The CX5140 embedded PC is meant to be used with the TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3 runtime settings. The CX5140 embedded PC has industry certifications and built-in persistent memory, which makes it a safe device for controlling automation and connecting to the internet.
