As a DIN-rail-mountable controller, it combines a CPU, an I/O bus interface, and communication ports in one housing, allowing it to execute PLC logic, motion sequences, and visualization tasks in industrial automation lines. It functions as the central processing element when paired with EtherCAT or Bus Terminals, supporting decentralized architectures while requiring minimal cabinet space.
