The CX5130-0140 is a state-of-the-art PC unit is a control device equipped by Beckhoff Automation with a double core intel atom processor E3827 that operates at a clock frequency determined to be about 1.75 gigahertz. As a full-fledged PC unit, its basic configuration includes four USB interfaces, a DVI interface, micro SD card slot, CFast Card slot and two independent Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces. The unit is also compatible with windows 10 IoT enterprise 2016 LTSB 32 bit. The CX5130-0140 requires the Twin CAT automation software where configuration instructions can be sent into the unit. This software also makes motion control tasks like multiple servo axes control and point-to-point measurement to be carried out. The Twin-CAT also provides enough time for the user interface to initiate and complete communication with other real-time components through its software interface.
The CX5130-0140 comes with a power battery, which is intended to provide a power supply for the real-time clock operating with the processor in the unit; this battery is located behind a front flip cover and can be easily removed and replaced after its front cover has been exhausted. The power supply is provided for the embedded PC through the spring loaded terminal located at the right-hand side of the unit; the power supply requirement is about 24 volts.
A terminal bus is also located at the right-hand side of this product; it plays an important role in the efficient transmission of data between this unit and peripheral components. The CX5130-0140 require proper grounding before operation; this is done through another spring loaded terminal designed for power contact. The memory and graphics controller of this unit are included in its Intel processor. The memory is not extendable and must be ordered from the factory.
