Product Description:
The CX5130-0122 is an embedded PC controller produced by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Designed for DIN-rail mounting alongside EtherCAT or K-bus terminals, it runs the TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime so motion, logic, and HMI tasks execute on the same hardware platform. This compact computer replaces separate PLCs and industrial PCs in automated cells, offering deterministic axis positioning and centralized fieldbus communication in a single 24 V environment.
The controller uses an Intel Atom E3827 dual-core CPU clocked at 1.75 GHz; the two cores support multitasking for real-time logic and visualization threads. System performance is backed by 4 GB DDR3-RAM, allowing large PLC projects and cam tables to reside entirely in memory. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, specified as 2 × RJ45, 10/100/1000 Mbit/s, enable segregation of machine and enterprise networks or redundant ring topologies. Input power is supplied at 24 V DC, and normal operation draws a maximum of 14 W, which simplifies cabinet thermal calculations and power supply sizing. Flash storage is provided through a CFast slot and a microSD slot, providing removable program media and system images. The unit also sources 10 W on its E-bus/K-bus backplane so distributed I/O terminals receive logic power without extra wiring.
The unit provides 4 × USB 2.0, 500 mA ports for operator panels, service keys, or wireless adapters while respecting the 1 s UPS buffer that secures volatile data during brief outages. The housing measures 142 × 100 × 92 mm, letting multiple controllers line up inside shallow control cabinets, and the aluminum extrusion keeps component temperatures stable. With a mass of 1095 g, the device can be mounted directly on lightweight machine frames without exceeding vibration limits or requiring additional support hardware.
