Product Description:
The CX5130-0110 is an embedded PC module manufactured by Beckhoff for the CX Embedded PC Systems series. Mounted on a DIN rail, the compact unit combines the functions of an industrial PC and a PLC so that control, visualization, and motion tasks can run directly beside the manufacturer’s I/O terminals. Its aluminum housing measures 100 mm in height, 142 mm in width, and 92 mm in depth, allowing easy placement in shallow control cabinets. The product is supplied without a TwinCAT runtime, allowing users to activate only the license needed for the intended machine program.
At the heart of the module is an Intel Atom E3827 1.75 GHz processor supported by two physical cores, providing deterministic performance for small to midsize applications. System tasks and user software run in 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a capacity that accommodates sizable control projects while helping maintain short cycle times. For graphics output, the controller relies on a dedicated frame buffer of 256 MB, enabling smooth rendering of user interfaces without placing the full processing load on the CPU. Electrical demand is modest because the electronics draw a maximum of 14 W from a nominal 24 V DC supply, allowing fanless operation in enclosed control cabinets.
Two independent Ethernet adapters presented as 2 × RJ45 sockets provide connections for real-time fieldbus and plant-level networking, while 4 × USB 2.0 ports support storage devices, touchscreens, and other peripherals. The separate Ethernet interfaces allow control traffic and higher-level network communication to use dedicated physical connections. The video channel uses the DVI-I standard, allowing the module to connect to either a digital or an analog monitor. An integrated capacitor-based uninterruptible power supply bridges power failures for approximately 1 second, protecting 1 MB of persistent data used to retain recipes or counters. This stored data remains available to the control application after an interruption, reducing the risk of losing essential operating values during an unexpected shutdown.
