An Intel Atom Z510 processor running at 1.1 GHz forms the computational core, and its single physical core supports deterministic PLC cycle times at the machine level. The CPU works with 512 MB RAM, which provides memory for control logic, variable handling, and compact user interface tasks. System communication is handled through 2 × RJ45, 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet ports, while removable media, scanners, or service peripherals can be connected through 4 × USB 2.0 ports. Local expansion is handled through the E-bus backplane, and the controller supplies 2 A to that rail so attached I/O terminals can operate without a separate feeder. A passive cooling design removes the need for fans, and the integrated DVI-D output can be used for direct display connection. The unit also includes the TwinCAT 2 NC PTP runtime for axis positioning tasks and for processing field signals received through the E-bus connection.
